It is not the teachings of any religion that offend me, but rather the actions of certain believers of those teachings.

The teaching that homosexuality is a sin offends me, both because I am bisexual and because it is used to persecute people undeserving of hateful treatment.

The teaching that all those who do not believe are going to hell offends me, because it sets one group up as better than any other.

I hasten to point out that these teachings are not exclusive to Christianity alone.

I also must say that the vast majority of Christian teachings do *not* offend me, in fact I find many of them inspirational. I just choose not to list my name among his followers.

It depends what you interpret as teachings of Christianity. I'm a huge fan of teachings like love, sacrifice, tolerance, and the Golden Rule. I'm not so much a huge fan of the hateful teachings that have no place in such a loving worldview such as sanctioning discrimination against homosexuals, endorsing patriarchy in society (tacitly or overtly), or warmongering.

You know, I am Christian, and for the most part, the answer would be an obvious no...but there is the occasional doctrine from other denominations that say I'm going to Hell for my beliefs that (on rainy bad days) tend to offend me.

I spent most of my life learning them. They don't offend me. Christianity offends my intelligence, but I can deal with that, being proselytized to offends me and being damned to hell offends me. I guess intolerance and disrespect offends me more than the teachings of Christianity. His philosophy wasn't bad, it's what grew out of it that became an abomination.

It's not the teachings, it's the constant bombardment of some other person's beliefs invading my way of life- and interfering with the laws of this country that I can’t stand.

Associating a son to God does offend me, because God does not have a son (For God's sake He is the God! How can He have a son? Any logical person would understand that). However its your religion and its your belief so I have to deal with it.

It offends me that they think anyone who doesn't believe in Jesus, will burn in hell forever. That is ridiculous to me, I have a completely different version of God in my head...one who is accepting and doesn't condemn others because they don't worship his prophets over him...
