I mean, if he was God and knew everything, why didn't he tell people that germs caused disease, or warn them about the plague or the inquisition or Hitler or Stalin? Does God enjoy people suffering? If God knows everything, he must know all the misery that's happening and going to happen, yet he does nothing to stop it. What good is he?

Just My Opinion
I am a deist=
Deists:

Do not accept the belief of most religions that God revealed himself to humanity through the writings of the Bible, the Qur'an or other religious texts.
Disagree with strong Atheists who assert that there is no evidence of the existence of God.

They regard their faith as a natural religion, as contrasted with one that is revealed by a God or which is artificially created by humans. They reason that since everything that exists has had a creator, then the universe itself must have been created by God.

Humans make mistakes and assumptions all the time. The world is flat-oops its round. Bleeding someone who is sick will put their "humors" back into balance-oops antibiotics work!
we at this time do not have the knowledge or understanding of who and what God truly is we only have mans writings that give opinions on what God is.
I believe it is arrogant and bigoted for a HUMAN to assume to know there is only 1 way to find God.
Religion divides and alienates and controls it inhibits spiritual growth and development by keeping us seperate and irrational about something that NO ONE TRULY KNOW FOR SURE.
for all we humans know God could simply be an absentee landlord. Just because one person found their path to God doesn't mean it is or should be the same for everyone else.

Geneis 2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

This is the very first warning God gave man. Therefore, we have a choice to do good or evil. When you choose evil all of these things you have stated you have chosen to have inflicted upon you.

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned!!!!

If God sees everything, why didnt he see the snake telling eve to eat fruit from the tree? Why would he allow deaths in the name of other Gods? Why would he allow the torture of children or the murdering of babies?
There are so many inconsistencies its ridiculous. Anyone with a mildly intelligent, logical mind can see that there are just too many unanswered questions and problems that it just cannot be realistically believed. It amazes me that so many people believe it more strongly than they believe anything else when there are so many discrepancies. But the emotional attachment overrides the ability to think logically and therefore it becomes believable.
Just be thankful that you have the mental capacity to realise these things. So many dont, its upsetting. Its as if theyre all psychotic, or deluded. But as with delusions in psychosis, they are unshakeable and immune to evidence/reasoning, so there is no point in trying to convince people of this.

People like to say that God's lack of interest in human plight as "God works in mysterious ways," otherwise they don't know why God allows such evil to happen so they try to say that there is a good reason that god knows of that we don't.

Or they give you the freedom of choice God gave us B.S.

God's will is to reform the understanding and regenerate the will of His creations. Maybe you mistake the work that God does.

The will of God is to form a heaven from the human race.

Actually He did. Read revelation. He also gave us free will. He is good because if not for His sacrifice we would be eternally damned in Hell no matter what we did. Also He gives us peace. In this crazy world I'm so thankful for it. He says "Peace be with you, peace I give to you. Not as the world gives. Do not be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27
Peace be with you.
