legally the problem may be that Gunzo could be a hazard if you were involved in a crash...the metal could slice right through a pedestrian who may be thrown onto the roof,(without Gunzo the person would just slide off.... bruised but in one piece..).
and yes I did stuff my cat ,following his death obviously, had him mounted up a tree in my garden,in life he used to love prowling around in the tree catching and torturing birds, the little rascal..!!...

You would have to check into the laws that govern the state , county and probably the city or town in which you live as they no doubt vary.
Do you think that a statue of Gunzo is really way fitting way honor his memory though? The statue could be a distraction to other vehicles on the road and could like cause an accident, as I believe someone else may have mentioned.
Not only could other people be injured, but you are also at risk. Someone could be distracted by the statue long enough to run into you, either from behind or head on or even sideways. I'm sure that Gunzo wouldn't want anything to happen to you.
That being said, you have to consider that the statue would be out in the elements 24/7 and could likely deterioate over time.
I really think that can honor Gunzo in way that is just as fitting, and probably a lot safer. I think instead of the money you would spend on the statue, you can make a generous donation to the ASPCA in his memory. I'm sure he would like that much more. :-)
EDIT TO ADD:
Alternatively, you could havea plaque made with a bronze head and photo of Gunzo stating something to the ffect that a donation has been been made to the local Shelter in Gunzo's honor. . People who come to adopt homeless animals would see it and you would be helping other homeless pets as well. pets. I really think that this would make Gunzo happy and and a lot more more people would get to see him whenever they went into the Shelter to adopt.
You would call your local new stations and they may even send someome to video it. Think of all the people that would get to see your beloved dog and you would be doing something to help others animals.
PS - Excuse my typos . I seem to have misplaced my glasses. :-)

um no, I have never done this, i usually bury my pet, and then make a shadow box and put things of the pets in there such as collars, chew bones, or what ever. I would think that the only requirement would be maybe height, or something like that.. maybe not, but I know that some cars have advertisements on the top of them, call the local police office and see if there are any, or where you would call... i would think that welding bronze to the top of a car might not hold though, the car roof is pretty thin. just an idea though

I nailed the corpse of tiddles - my dead cat - to my garage door but had to take it down after my neighbours complained it was traumatising their children and the flies were becoming a nuisance.
