I've been feeling depressed for about 4 years now. I am not the same and it has been so long i feel like i dont even know who i am. i am constantly thinking about my ever action. Its almost like i have been living outside of my body for the past 4 years. My parents dont believe me and refuse to listen. No matter how hard i try to look at the posotive, there is always something wrong. ALWAYS. now, nothing in life seems satisfying at all. im not allowed to see my friends simply because my parents dont like them. wow i finally found some people who care about me and listen to me and i cant see any of them because one they are a few yrs older than me (2-3). i just am exausted.everyday i wanna cry and i know there is a reason but i cant find it. my brain physically hurts along with the rest of my body. im always confused and i feel im going crazy. i have distorted perceptions on almost anything,i dont feel like im human. there is something wrong with me for sure,i just need help to find it.

You sound like you have symptoms of a medical condition that could benefit from treatment. Nobody can properly diagnose an illness via Yahoo! Answers, but we can tell you that going to a doctor would probably be an excellent step towards feeling OK again.

Psychiatrists are medical doctors (MDs) who are trained in mental health. They also have the power to prescribe medication, if you and your psychiatrist decide that medications are right for you.

Mental illnesses are biochemical in nature. Just as chemicals in your food can make you sick, an imbalance of chemicals in your brain can do the same. You may or may not have a mental illness, but if you do you should know that there is no more shame in having one than there is in getting sick from eating poorly cooked food.

You would go to a doctor if you had a stomach ache; you should go to a doctor to take care of your mental health, too.

Honestly buddy, I believe this Yahoo Answers isn't a really professional replacement for medical/psychiatric help, i prefer you see a psychiatrist. If you continually feel depress and leave it that way, it might become extremely worst! It could lead to suicide. its OK to feel down sometimes, but 4 years is a long time, so basically i think you should talk to your parents, school counselor, etc, tell them exactly what you said over here. It is not your fault that you are feeling depress, it all has to do with your brain chemistry. But, there is cure!, there are many medications. Hope you get well!!!

The best thing to positively do is seek help,I will tell you now that if youve been through depression for 4 years there wont be a day that all of this will just pass over you.You need to seriously think about seeing a doctor,or social services, someone who you trust you can talk to.Ive got depression, but it is far more severe, and ive had it for over a year,I thought strongly on it,felt anxious and panicky to seek help,so to overcome these illnesses i rang some helplines and told them my problems, they took me through some helpful steps and supported me.Then on i went to the doc and told them how i felt. Now ive been on paxil antidepressants for 3 days now.I feel like everything is becoming clear and positive.I know you can do this, even if you have to force yourself to.Once youve gotten help i promise you will feel much better. And yourself again.

Hi hun! It sounds to me like you need to get on some kinds of meds to help you get in balance enough to begin working out these problem. You sound like your head is barely staying above the water. Please see your doctor, tell your parents that you are sick and need to talk to your doctor to try to get help. Depression is nothing to mess around with, you might have a chemical enbalance also. So the best thing to do is see your doctor and he can help you with the next step. You take care ! Hugs! Von

See a doctor about antidepressants. Or if medication is not something you want to consider, see a psychiatrist. Sometimes having someone to talk to that feels like they are on your side can help alot.

Find help. There are docters out there, they can prescribe antidepressants or whatever. And if your friends make you feel better, go see them anyway. Forget your parents. Doesn't seem like they know ****.
