how about a good camera. she can use it for personal pics or pics for future art projects.

Well you must mean something to do with art cos you said she was an art student. Do you have enough money to take her to the nearest big gallery,spend the day with her and buy a meal,or take a picnic?

A personalized painter's smock, (yes, I know it's an art supply, but not really). If you can make one that would be best or buy a quality smock and monogram her initials on it and put on other appliques of her favorite things, (flowers, butterflies or whatever)
That should make a nice personalized gift.

membership to the local art museum, a new art class, book on a favorite artist, or, if you have the money, a small original piece of artwork from a local artist.

i would say something with art in it or vsomethin very creative. since she an artist she might b interested in that kind of stuff. or just give her a nice card with money in it so she can buy her own things

Maybe tickets to a gallery event or something like that. Maybe just have a whole night planned around it. Have it be just you and her and take her to dinner and then to a gallery. That would be fun!

you can never go wrong by giving a girl, body lotion, shower gel, feet lotion, all that stuff from Victoria's secret. your sister will love it!
