The misconception may be as to how much money is needed to cure AIDS. Over the last few years Bush has given over $10 billion of our tax money for AIDS research.

I read where we give about 25 times as much money towards AIDS research as we do towards curing Breast Cancer and yet about 10 times as many die each year from breast cancer.

The difference is in the lobbying and activism.

I'm definitely for finding cures for these diseases, but the disproportion in the funding for each one is troubling.

there is an AIDS misconception?
well basically, as much as i admire bono's effort to care, because it seems that no one is willing to acknowledge africa in any real respect,
I think it tends to be way over done.

Education and condoms...past that, people need to figure it out for themselves, find other hobbies, etc...
