I will go ahead and attempt to answer your question bit by bit.

1. "I don't understand it. We have the most advanced army in the world. We won WWII and the world loved us".
Answer: We "helped" win WWII with the aid of other nations and also came into the war later than most. That war was an obvious one. The Nazi war machine was going for global domination. They were going to start in Europe and make their way west and east. We stepped in because of Pearl. If we were not attacked it would have been much longer till we entered the war.

2. "We entered Iraq and now everyone hates us. It saddens me that the world hates us know."
Answer: The world doesn't "hate us". There are more than a few countries that do I am sure. But the bulk of the world just see's us as that self proclaimed popular kid who everyone wants to be like. We went in to Iraq (for no good reason BY THE WAY) with our middle fingers up to the rest of the world. I would be pissed at us too! You need world opinion to solve things like this. The UN is garbage, we all know this... but you need world opinion! We could have done things in a MUCH better way to solve this situation. It WILL NOT be won with force alone.

3. "How are we losing the war, or if we aren't losing, why are we losing so many troops?"
Answer: I don't know if we are really "losing" the war, but we are defiantly NO WHERE CLOSE to winning. People are dying because that's what happens when you have military action. We send troops in harms way and they die, that's the thick of it. People voted to go to war, how ever many didn't is still unseen. We put those troops there because WE elected this bone head in the white house. If you want to see a change in the way things are done in the future, take an active role in what your government is doing. You can't just wait around and complain later.

All and all I understand why you are frustrated, I think we all are. We are far from victory in that hell hole over there, and we should defiantly take steps NOW to gain the world opinion back and get allies. That's how we won WWII by the way... Allies... if we went it alone we would have been spanked. The Nazi's had better guns, better tanks, and better tactics.... we won by numbers kids... numbers.

EDIT: I love how people's justification for loss of life in this "police action" is linked to other wars.... first off all Gabriel...

WW1 Casualties: 126,000 U.S military deaths(1914-1918) = world war! Major combat and battles over a HUGE scale!

WW2 Casualties:407,300 U.S military deaths(1941-1945) = World WAR! world war! Major combat and battles over a HUGE scale!

Vietnam War Casualties: 58,239 U.S Military Deaths(1960-1975) = 15 YEARS worth of a police action against a STANDING ARMY....

Not to mention the fact that each war you put up there had a manditory DRAFT.
we are in what? year three of our little pissing match!!! and we are not fighting an all out war idiot, this is dealing with small groups here and there. They are using tactics we are NOT familiar with seeing as we are trained to fight a standing army... Not a group of people that hides amung civs and uses un-conventional tactics. Loss of life is loss of life... go to the family's and tell them that when the death toll reaches 50,000 you will give a ****.

We will not win this war.... not the way we are choosing right now... there were thousands of spoon fed kids like you in Vietnam that said the same thing. It makes me sad that there are people with your level of education about our current situation... If you read up on some things you would see that we entered this "war" in exactly that way. Afghanistan was understandable... then "pssst... lets just jump over to Iraq and finish daddy's war and get some lucrative oil contracts as well... Not to mention the BILLIONS to be made by Hallaburton after we bomb their country back to the stone age.

Tim, it is pretty simple...

Our government looks around the world, does not like something that is being done, and we threaten them. How dictatorship is that?

It would have been one thing if Iraq was our original target, but it was not, Osama was blamed initially. Now we have Saddam in prison and on trial. Hmmm, how did that happen, I thought we were after Osama.

Reality is, we said we going over there to find Osama and now we have a totally different person. We have assisted in placing our own government...we call it democracy.

I do believe we are losing the fight there. Those people in Iraq are not afraid to die and that makes them more dangerous than those who are thinking of their families back home and how they want to go back. Those people will take less of a risk.

Simply put...what is going wrong in Iraq, we are there.

why are we loosing so many troops????

do you even know you're history?? Compare the troops we lost from the past Wars, in this War right now we ain't loosing nothing compared to the last Wars.

WW1 Casualties: 126,000 U.S military deaths(1914-1918)
WW2 Casualties:407,300 U.S military deaths(1941-1945)
Vietnam War Casualties: 58,239 U.S Military Deaths(1960-1975)

Iraq war already has years, and it's still not even close to those numbers on top.

Iraq War: 2,736 (2003-Present)

This is war, people die in Wars, that's just the way it is, sadly.
We will win this War, just think positive and support our troops.

And for the guy who said: "We went in to Iraq (for no good reason BY THE WAY) with our middle fingers up to the rest of the world."
RESPONSE: I disagree with you, i guess you are on the terrorist side, we are fighting terrorist and we are fighitng so we don't have to fight here in US territory. Those guys hate us and want us dead.

You are reading the wrong news. As far as troop deaths, you have to understand that 1,120 out of 140,000 Americans die every year, war or not. That means if you sampled 140,000 people and waited 3.5 years, 3,920 would have died on you even during peace time. Far less Americans have died in Iraq. Do the Iraqis hate us? Not really. You would see mass ralleys in Iraq and Afganistan if they did.

We are losing faith in this war and if something isn't done soon, things will continue to get worse. The reason we are losing faith is due to the anti-American media here. We are losing solely due to the liberals in this country who embolden the terrorists through the media outlet. The more the libs attack our president and troops, the stronger our enemy gets.

These libs attend funerals of lost soldiers here in the US with signs saying "God hates you" and "Thank God for dead soldiers"

These idiots should be beaten until they can't hold up a sign the rest of their life.

The war is being micro managed by politicians. If they let the Mil do what the Mil is made to do (break things and kill things) the will of those people would be broken ala Japan WW2 and it would be over, there anyway.

I am afraid my friend the democrats(rats)/liberals have manged to make the American soldier the enemy, and tied their hands behind their backs, which has made them unable to fight, this war the way it needs to be fought, with the same rules the enemy muslims use NONE,but democrats(rats)/liberals have made it a world crime for the U.S. troops to actually win this war, without the fear of be accused of war crimes by the democrats(rats)/liberals.
