promethius9594 are you kidding me? Millions of troops? do you know how many troops we have over there? Lets say there are 140,000 troops on the ground, whch is generous... thats $143 per soldier. Plus what bennefits they are already getting from joining up under free will and no draft. I can think of 2908340293840298 other things to spend the $20 Million on!

I love America too. I don't want to say it is all of Bush's fault, because it is extremely hard to be President and I don't think he is a bad guy. I think our problem is terrorism, which will take forever to get rid of, but I believe we can get rid of it. We invaded Iraq and we are in big trouble. We basically entered a hornet's nest. If we didn't invade Iraq, we would never get rid of terrorism, even though I don't think the war was planned out correctly. If the President managed troops correctly in the beginning and he had approval by UN and Congress after long consideration to invade, then many people would not have a problem with the war. But the descision seemed quick. Rememeber most Americans during World War II thought we shouldn't have entered, but in the end, it was all worth it. And, we lost way, way more troops in World War II and we have been fighting in Iraq not too much shorter than WWII and we have not even come close to losing as many troops. Our other problem is corrupt politicians who think they are above everyone else and can get away with anything. We can't do too much about this because there has always been corrupt politicians, even in ancient times, and there will always be, but it seems like we have the most corrupt politicians. That problem will never go away. I hope this helps.

at the same time as i became a baby I had recognize for and became frightened of adults, really those in authority. Now it really is any opposite direction round, as an man or woman, i'm frightened of toddlers (properly children besides). present day and extremely unhappy activities contained in the files shows what can effect in case you dare mission their unruly behaviour. i do not recognize what the answer is yet some thing has to modify. I accept as true with the manager constable who stated the mission lies partly with father and mom who're unwilling or incapable of elevating toddlers to change into good voters. also there are too many 'do-gooders' who continually take the aspect of the yobs with the same old line "Agh it really is because they don't have any more some thing to do" What complete garbage, they have better danger now then at the different time. convey again the best previous borstal!!

20 million really isn't that much money. when you consider the chance to "possilby" throw a victory celebration for the millions of our troops, you're talking a celebration budget of less than 10 dollars per military member... that includes plaques for awards to honorable performance and a host of other obligatory expenditures required for any formal affair held military wide. Basically, this is yet another case of the media blowing up an issue which is actually small beans in hopes of causing a ruckus...
so in answer to your question... the out of control sensationalist and less than honest media is what's wrong with this country
EDIT: Hood, contrary to popular belief, the SAME 140K troops have not been in iraq this whole time. with the AEF program in full swing, MOST of the Air Force has already been deployed during the global war on terror operations. aside from that factor, EVERY soldier has supported the war from garrison locations or deployed. If you think that victory celebrations will go to ONLY the troops who are currently stationed in theatre, you're sorely mistaken. As i already said, in a military budget, 20 million dollars is really not much
oh, and hood, i strongly doubt you could think of 2.9 QUADRILLION things on which to spend 20 million dollars even if you had a lifetime and enough paper to write it all down. what a claim to make... are you older than seven?

The first problem with this country is people like you who make mountains out of molehills. In case you haven't heard, the amount of money funding this war is the lowest percentage of GDP ever, except the first Gulf War. (See link for the chart)
And second, people in the US have a microwave mentality. We want things hot and fast, and are impatient when things don't go our way right away.

why can't people thank our soldier for protecting us? you need to understand that the war is completly necessary, and I for one am going to help out instead of sitting back and watching my friends die and staying back here with the people who are to scared to go fight and those who don't appreciate what they are trying to do over there
