Sit under a light that simulates sun light. You might have Seasonal Affective Disorder, go see a Dr.

1) Start doing some volunteer work in a soup kitchen. You will see how lucky you are compared to a lot of people.
2)Put on some Christmas music and make up that shopping list.
3)Burn a scented candle.
4)Call up a friend you have not talked to in a while. Make lunch or dinner plans.
5)Get out those Holiday recipes and start planning some meals.
6)Look through some old pictures.
7)Start planning a vacation for next summer.
8)Start doing some pre-holiday cleaning, the house will look great and it will be much more fun to decorate.

As a general advice on depression - Eat well, make sure you get enough sleep, and stay active !. But am not entirely sure what your depressed about... winters not too bad; make snowballs ! umm if i havent helped, maybe this link will. :-/ :).

oh hey i missed that part where you said irritable. My main reason for gettin irritable is due to lack of sleep. (maybe you need more? - maybe not -) Alternatively, Envision people who you dislike to represent the cold, bleak misery that winter brings; And make some snowballs the next time you see them (this can be done alone or with some accomplices/friends), then, after thoughtfully building up that tension you feel, release as much of it as you can through hurling them directly onto your enemies, therefore using the own snow -being the cause of your depression as a means to nursing it. Thus killing two birds with one stone - enemies + depression. what ya think?... :-D

Find as many fun things to do as you can. Like playing tennis, handball or some form of sports outside when the weather permits.

Go swimming in an in door pool. Join clubs that are doing fun things you like to do. Keep yourself busy. Hang out with your fun friends.
Explore the city. Look for the changing of the greenery on the trees.

Go into your kitchen and cook up different dishes that it was to hot to do in the summer.
Take mini day trips. Visit different department stores and look at the decorations. Treat your self. Good Luck!!!
