I leave food out all day all the time and have NEVER gotten sick. I regularly eat pizza that has been on the counter for up to three days. If it's been out longer it just gets too dry to eat.
The only things that you need to worry about leaving out are things with milk or mayo or sour cream type foods. They have active bacteria and go bad fast if not refridgerated.
Remember that people lived for thousands of years without refridgeration and did just fine. Everyone is so bug-phobic lately that they are creating super bugs and super bacteria.
Relax and live longer than the germaphobes.

Technically no it if was left on the counter for more than for hours and the roast has a temp of 41 to 135 than it has grown enough bacteria to make you sick. But If you had marinated or added salt or any thing with acidic value than the bacteria has a limited growth and I would say yes just make sure when you temp the roast later it has reached an internal temp of at least155. Also Of the technicals I leave my food out all the time and nothing happens to me. It's impractical to plan meals 3 days in advance to thaw in the fridge.

I would have to agree, Do not eat it!! When food is not at a temperature above 141 or less than 40 degrees. Then Bacteria will grow on the meat, the meat may still tast ok, but the batceria is still there. I wouldn't even feed to an animal. The trash is best place for it. I hope this help

You should be putting things in the fridge after 2 hours of sitting out. But if you reheat (make sure it's really really hot to kill germs) then it should be ok. But there's a certain time when reheating wont do anything becuase the bacterias feces are never dead causing food poisoning.

ok....was it just at room temp all day? Then I would say no don't eat it. Ptomaine food poisoning, e coli and other nasty bugs could be present. Yes it seems like a waste but I have had food poisoning and it is VERY bad.
If it was crock potting all day and stayed hot then eat it. Otherwise don't risk it.
