A woman just asked "why is it so hard to immigrate here legally?" The majority of you answered 'file paper work and do it the right way". You are truly misguided and do not understand that immigrating here legally is Near to Impossible! My husband & I have been working with an attorney for more than a year & we have made No progress! NONE. We are trying to do it the Right Way!! Perhaps as some of you said there is a cap on how many immigrants they let in, all though I have never heard that before. Besides we have a family! We are married! He has No criminal record.

Why do you think it is a simple process??????????????

I work immigration case work. Who is sponsoring you? Is it a family member? Is it your employer? The time it takes depends on the sponsor. I agree is not a simple process, nor is it hard. Its just time consuming and costly. Following the law does have it rewards. I suggest you either change attorneys or contact your congress person in your district. The congressional staff will make inquiries on your behalf and will find out why it is taking so long. There are avenues to help you, providing you are following the law.

Yes, sad but true, it is not a easy process. Many people who go and apply sometimes get denied and get sent back right away. I know of people who were here and worked really hard and when they thought they were going to get approved, they tricked them and just sent them back like it was funny and no big thing. It's very scary when the immigration is in town and everyone is hiding trying not to get caught, they even take people who are working or are just shopping. That is just cruel. People just need to learn to stop talking sh*t and keep their pretty little american mouths shut. It IS NOT an easy process at all!!!

i imagine it might want to be plenty a lot less complicated; the present equipment is amazingly harsh and nonsensical. you could come to the U. S. if you're chosen through a lottery, yet you won't be able to stay the U. S. in case you grew up with American way of existence and attended an American college---that does no longer look honest in any respect to me. a lack of legal immigration thoughts also causes fairly some unlawful immigration. fairly some unlawful immigrants do useful farm paintings: you would possibly want to truly provide the risk for individuals to come back to the U. S. round harvest season to attempt this paintings, giving the farmers the confusing paintings they favor and preserving those workers registered and legal. for someone who isn't prosperous and does no longer have a PhD, the in elementary words genuine thoughts for US immigration are marriage and a lottery. pondering there are a variety of of human beings (in the cultural sense) who lack citizenship, it type of feels ridiculous to enable no matter if or not they could stay of their homestead united states count upon a lottery or them occurring to locate someone to marry.

yes, alot of people dont realize how hard it is ... and it usually takes quite a bit of money also, especially if you are just a single person trying to immigrate or get a visa.... i want to get a friend over here to visit from the philippines and it is next to impossible because they want proof of substance ... 30000$ in the bank ... own a home or a buisness .... a person cant just fill out the paperwork and come over here .... it doesnt work like that unless they are wealthy.

And your point is what?

Sure, immigration law should change. Nobody ever said it was supposed to be easy. Our borders are not open to whomever wants to come in. And its not hard for everybody. I've seen tons of people get visas to live and work in the US.

Just because its not easy doesn't justify coming to the US w/out following the rules.

I totally agree! It is extremely hard to come legally, my husband went thru a lot of stuff to come as a permanent resident. And he was one of the lucky ones because he married me. Otherwise he would not have had that chance...We are not like those people that are all upset that someone skipped ahead of the line...like they say, we understand why they did. And wish them the best of luck in getting "amnesty". The US has some major revisions they need to make to our immigration policies!

I don't really care how hard it is. I don't mean to sound like a hardass, but I just don't think it's remotely okay for the rest of us taxpayers to continue to cover the expenses for sending your kids to school, treating your illnesses, insuring your drivers, etc.

Thanks for working so hard to do the right thing. Immigrants like you are what makes the immigration issue so difficult - there are many who are trying to do it legally, and they are unfortunately getting a bad rap from thos who are not.

It's not a simple process and it shouldn't be a simple process. American citizenship is something that should be highly valued and not to be handed out to just anyone. It is not impossible to immigrate here legally, many have done so.

I don't care what the process is. You need to go through it just as every other legal immigrant has done. Either this country is worth the time and trouble or it it isn't. If you get too impatient then you can leave and open a slot for someone who will appreciate. You better at least be in the system, if you chose the illegal way your butt will be out of here.

My wife did it on her own and it took over 5 years. Simple no but if you want to be an American then put in the effort and stop complaining.

Just because the process is not as simple as you would like that is no justification for breaking our laws and becoming a criminal.
