I will tell you, because when most of our ancestors came to this great country they came because they wanted to be Americans. They did not come here and ask for government paperwork to be changed so they can read it. THEY LEARNED TO SPEAK ENGLISH! They did everything they could to become citizens. They did not try to find a loophole so they could just work here for a few years and go back to there country. If you want to live hear you have to assimilate your self into our culture not b itch until everyone changes for you.

I just saw an answer complaining that they might not be able to pay their bills so how are they suppose to go to school. I just had to respond to that, ok…where do I start. I feel bad that you can’t pay you bills but do not get upset when you cant fill out a form because it’s in English. If you would just learn the language most of everyone’s issue would go away. Why should we change our way of life because you don’t want to learn the language of the country you just moved into. Try moving to Yugoslavia and asking them to put all government documents in Spanish and see how far you get.

I can only speak for myself and my experiences on this one, not sure anyone is qualified to speak for Americans as a whole, but I'll take a whack at this from my perspective.

I don't think it is a fact that Americans don't like Mexican immigrants I think the issue lies with ILLEGAL Mexican immigrants! ILLEGAL being the key word here.

When anyone comes into this country illegally (not just Mexicans) they have a tendancy to add more stress to an already maxed out system that we call the good ole U.S. Govt (State and Federal). By by-passing border controls, not paying taxes, having children in this country who are naturally US Citizens but the parent(s) are not! Not getting the proper documents to get necessary licenses as well as trafficking drugs and other illicet things into this country. This just makes the an already bad situation that much more worse!

This causes people to have a mind set that these people coming into the US illegally are a major cause to these negative impacting things. Not to mention that those of us who pay taxes are paying to support people who are not supposed to be here in the first place.

No those immigrants that take the steps necessary to become US citizens are NOT necessarily in this category. If your question is aimed at those that are citizens then I can't speak on that issue as I have no problem with those group of CITIZENS!

You are talking about the legal immigrants and I don't find any thing about them that I hate,That's ridiculous, the illegal that comes here and expect us to welcome them with open arms is the only problem I have with anyone.
My ancestors came to the New World in 1702 ,they were merchants from Germany. They learned English from the elder/leader of the group and were told by him that they must speak English, they settled the land and prospered.
There is not one illegal in my family history.
I could not even if I tried hate Mexicans either legal or illegal. But they need to stop coming until they are legal.

Very good answer Edward,thank you

Proud grow up no one stole the southwest.Get out your history books...Mexico started a war with us,they lost that war,the US then took the land as all winners do but we still paid Mexico a total of $18,250 million for the land,NO ONE STOLE the land.ITS ours not Mexico's.What the hell are they teaching you in school now days......

I'm an American ,I'm not an Anglo,I am a born and raised American citizen of the United States of America. There's nothing in that phrase that says Anglo is there first answer person.? You are wrong.!!!!

Consider the plight of the early colonists when they were braced with a dark people who not only didn't speak their language but, in most cases were hostile. Savages they called them. Obviously there was no paperwork, and assimilation wasn't an option in colonial times. Take a better look at American history. The Spanish, French, and Mexican people always had an English language problem with your revered ancestors. Its time to get over yourself.

Hospitals can not turn them away, so they get free medical care, which is paid for by legal U.S. citizens due to the rate increases for medical care. They are also a burden on the schools, and commit fraud with the Social Security by using false numbers.
Let a U.S. citizen use false S.S. numbers and see how quick they will be prosecuted.

Yes, big business can save money by employing them, but, we, the common people, have to make up all the costs for them being here illegally.
The government is very slow to do anything about the illegal immigrants as the government is orientated towards big business and all the lobbyist's who contribute to their party.

Why are people so stupid?

Let's get this straight people!
1) most people are quite fine with LEGAL Mexican (and other) immigrants. so long as they are legal.

2) Most people, except those who support breaking the law, have an issue with ANY person immigrating to the US ILLEGALLY.

What part of ILLEGAL do you people not understand?

What happened 200 yrs ago is irrelevant. What is relevent is what the law is NOW.

Hey you who likes giving facials let me enlighten you on a point.
Most people who immigrated to your country from anywhere did so because for one reason or another they were pushed out of their own place and not because they wanted to be Americans.
Let me englighten you on another point, Americans dislike immigrants because immigrants cause a number of problems, not because of their inability to speak your language. Eventually they all learn but apparently not fast enough for your sensibilities.

Not ALL Mexicans are like that. My husband is Mexican and he abides by the law. Speaks very good english and is a foreman for a company. He probably works harder then a lot of white people. Sometimes 7 days a week 12 hours a day.
