my opinion on that is being big does not make you less of a person there are big girls with good looking boyfriends and ect you can look like a supermodle but if you act like a ***** none of the external attrubutes matter you are ulgy in my eyes.

Many people make a split second judgment when they see an overweight person. The first thing that pops in is that the overweight person is self-indulgent and has no self-discipline and eats non-stop. Actually that is far from the truth in many cases.

I have a sister who did not have a problem with weight gain until she was prescribed radioactive iodine for a hyperthyroid condition. Within a year of the procedure she was obese and still is obese. She often doesn't feel well and doctors can't seem to get her medication just right. I also have a hyperthyroid type condition, and although my appetite is considerably lower than it was five years ago, I have gained 50 lbs. while on thyroid medication.

I've also read recently that studies are finding that people who have insomnia or consistently sleep less than seven or eight hours each night don't produce enough of a certain protein that contributes to weight loss/gain.

Anyway, it isn't all diet and exercise alone so who are we to judge?

I think that all people are people and should be treated the same, unfortunately this is not the case, after being on both ends of the spectrum skinny and morbidly obese I know that people can be cruel without intending to. When I was skinny, 98 lbs at 5ft 5in, I had people making comments about getting a Big Mac, When I was obese 388 at my biggest (no lie!!!) I had people walking past me make comments and men would moo at me. I much prefer being where I am now, a nice even 189.

While I accept the fact that being overweight is not a matter of choice, but of body chemistry, brain mechanisms and other internal processeses over which we have little control, I still find fat people outside my taste. I've dated women with a few extra pounds, but it's an altogether different matter with grossly overweight people. It's just not my thing.

All I know is that skinny people like to ridicule them, and assume they are inferior, lack discipline and intelligence. I hate it when people assume someone is fat because they are too stupid to understand how to eat and exercise. It's actually the opposite. Fat people are much more knowledgeable about these things, because they have been fighting it all their lives. Obesity is caused by an addictive reaction in the brain when you eat. It's like a heroin addict getting a fix. Their brain will torment them until they get another fix.

I am overweight, not fat. But I am working my hardest right now to lose the weight. I hate that a guy would judge someone right off the bat. I could be 50 pounds skinnier in 5 months! And they will regret not being with me when they could of. I have no prob with overweight people. BUT people who are horridly obese, and are not doing anything about it. That bothers me.

I think they are another group that suffers from a "lower quality of life" because of the way they look.
Overweight I dont mind, some heavier people a cute, however when it gets to obese/super obese I worry for them, just because it hurts their self esteem and their health is in jeopardy.

My opinion of people whether fat or not is always the same. If you groom well, are confident and polite then I will probably like you. If you dont take care of yourself, act rudely then I probably wont like you. Im a fat girl but most people tell me I carry it well and I dont act like a fat girl. Im happy with myself and I actually like women who are more......womanly. Lol. Stick girls with no self esteem is a major turn off for me.

the bigger the person the bigger the heart which i see alot of you'se dont have.
who are youse to judge, your body's just might be naturally average.
do you think a person decides ''oh 'ill be 380 pounds and succeeds at it .
i understand not being attracted to a fat person but that doesn't mean they cant be your best friend if you gave em a chance.
