the pain's near my hips on the left side and it goes away and comes back and it hurts like hell.

Could be a cramp, might have bruised or dislocated your hip. Maybe it's something else, go see a doctor, seeing as you aren't likely to get the right answer here.

It could be a variety of problems. I would call your doctor and have it checked out. Could be something with the vascular system, or with the joint itself. Have you injured the area recently or been in some type of accident recently? I would call your doctor to see whats going on in there.

tell your doctor about your pain, be very specific the kind of pain and where it is. i have a similar pain in my left knee and when im running its gone, but if i slow down or walk it hurts liek anything. hope you feel better,

you may have the same thing as me. The only thing they told me is I need to stretch more - bascially suggesting that it is from tight muscles.
