People are not as easily offended as most people think that they are. Most people appreciate honesty, and would much rather someone drop them an obvious hint, than to go around ruining everyones lunch :)

While you are with your boss, pop a mint in your mouth, and hand them one while you are offering it. The reason why you actually hand it to them is because most people (again trying to be polite) will refuse something that is offered, but will accept what is given. So simply saying, "would you like one", might not be the best approach. Hand them one, while saying "try this, it's great, and it makes your mouth feel so fresh". If they say that its good, hand them the pack, and tell them something like, "here you can have these, I have more at my desk". They get the point, they aren't offended, and they feel better knowing that they aren't stinking up the office anymore. :)

regrettably, a mint or a chunk of gum will only briefly mask the mission. He probable desires a good colon cleanse, yet telling him it really is possibly worst than only conserving "Sir your breath smells worst than a barrel of ???". So attempt a touch opposite psychology. verify your own breath quite a few cases at the same time as he's chatting with you as if you're self unsleeping. Then say some thing like " Sorry Sir, I had some garlic some days in the past, and that i will't look to get the smell off my breath." then you fairly ask him if he's conscious of a few thing that would help you with the mission. possibly this would instantaneous him to finish a touch breath checking himself. good success

The problem may not be solvable by good brushing or breathmints or mouthwash. it could be a problem with decayed teeth or even a medical problem. I'll include a link or two, why not print up a packet of materials from a few sites and leave them "conveniently near" his desk. Good luck!

ask him if he thinks you have a bad breath problem (make up a story about how your friends or girlfriend said so and laugh at it). then ask him about tips to improve bad breath. maybe that will get him thinking about his own breath.

its a hard situation. we had a coworker with horrible BO and we didn't know what to do!!! i'm going to ask this question!!!

When he is out of the office, and you can get to his desk, place some breathalyzers on his desk. He won't know who did it.

If you are the only one there, ooops.
Tell him you were looking for something and dropped them.

Go to a dental clinic and have them mail a brochure to his office. If they won't just put one on his desk. If that doesn't work anonymously put gum on his desk. If he uses it just keep buying the gum and putting it on his desk till he gets the point.
