Cats are territory bound. They get very scared if they are outside away from the familiar grounds. Loud sounds, strange movements, and smells scare them. They are usually more happy at home.

Because a house cat is a live and healthy cat.
They are not exposed to cats who may not have had their shots, They will not be put in the position of having to fight another cat, They will not pick up fleas,
They will not get run over,
They will not get stolen,
and so on.
Having said that, we have always had just one cat at a time. When we moved here we took in 2 litter mates and what a difference for them to have each other to wrestle with and groom.
So now we will always have 2 - but litter mates are best. As in, same mother.

well its not illegeal. people dont take there cats out because to be honest there isnt a real reason too. cats are usually inside cats or outdoor cats. you can take them out. but you really dotn see that much in a big city. usually in small rual neighboorhoods. but it is ok to take your cat out. i suggest first of all to get a cat harness not a collar a harness and a cat leash (you can use a dog one but make sure its really thin and light. same with harness) just go to your local pet shop and they will help you pick out the best one. even if your goin to be holding you cat. still do the harness and leash thing because anything can spook them or get there attention and off they go before you have time to respond.. i hope this helps..

Well, most places in NY might not allow pets inside the building, ie an apartment complex. Plus, it isn't really a great place for cats, and maybe people just keep their cats inside.

becoming up my cats have been continuously indoor/outdoors cats. they could are available to snuggle and devour, yet performed out section many of the day. My mothers and dads had a huge backyard with timber and the cats could in basic terms wander around the community. All of my mothers and dads associates knew our cats and performed with them besides. on condition that my mothers and dads homestead develop into in a suburb there wasn't quite the possibility of untamed animals which you stumble on contained in the county, or the rushing autos of a city. It develop into kitty cat paradise. Now I stay in a residence off a college campus. i could by no potential dream of letting my cat outdoors because of the fact of all the site visitors. i think of it relies upon on the place you reside and what vaccinations your cat has had. Cats desire to be outdoors yet some circumstances, like residing in a city, in basic terms are not perfect. it truly is continuously safer to maintain your cat interior, yet cats are happier while allowed a sprint extra freedom.

No it isn't against the law. The problem is no one walks their cat and they go to the bathroom in litter boxes. No one that lives in the city would have an outdoor cat.

If you are in Manhattan and if you are taking your cat outside you will probably get kicked in the butt few times before getting back home.
Know why?
Because its so crowded over there that when you bend down to clean the kitty poo, someone might accidentally kick your butt. Gotcha?
