Yes i believe it can, if your bullied by other kids in your school they will knock your self esteem. Even if you havent been bullied sometimes if your not in with the popular crowd your self esteem can be destroyed. But the only person who can fix it is you, no one else can.

Absolutely. Most people carry childhood grudges, and self-esteem issues to their graves. Many adults now get their validation via money, fame, friends, etc.

So, yes, self-esteem can be destroyed by school.

I think parenting has an effect on your self-esteem and what you learn early on dictates how fragile that esteem is when you go to school and it goes from there. At least thats how it was for me.

Your self-esteem can improve if you're encouraged and admired by the same group -- for your individuality and effort.

Yeah if everyone puts you down and you listen to them of course your self esteem will go down because those are your peers and friends, well not friend if they put you down. You just have to think better of yourself and know that what you think really counts and no one else except for your family and friends they count also.

Yes very much so. Mine was. I am 26 now and somethings just stick with no matter what. You have to be strong and just stick it out. You will probably never see them again.
