There's a lot of ignorant people in here giving "answers" that are just flat out wrong.

Smoke is not "just smoke." Marijuana does not kill brain cells.

Marijuana is not "full of tar that sticks to your lungs."

Where the hell do you people get this **** from? If you're going to answer a question, know what you're talking about. No wonder Google Answers is 10000x better than this, you have to be qualified to give answers and provide a source.

Not even going to waste my time "finding" the answers for you. Do a search on Google and save yourself some time.

If you toke a joint as hard as a cigarette, when do you think you will stop coughing? Next month? Or next year?

Pot smoke is more harsh on your lungs, but THC is a relaxant, where nicotine is a vasoconstrictor. So pot is more likely to give you lung cancer, but less likely to give a heart-attack.

While both are stupid, its probably safer to smoke a joint a day instead of a pack of smokes. Most people I have met can't do one without the other, though.

marijuana has THC which is not the same as nicotine but is also addictive and both have side effects besides just bad skin. neither are good for you but if you had to choose, at least cigarettes are legal and won't put you in jail as a side effect considering you are 18 or older.

No. They are not the same. Although pot contains alot of the same stuff as cigarrettes, you do not smoke 20 joints a day, like the average pack a day smoker. (I wouldnt mind smoking 20 joints a day)

smoking does not have anything to do with bad skin. the difference between cigarettes and weed is the type of leaf used.

Weed contains LARGE amounts of tar that will stick to your lungs. It also has THC and many other things that seperate it from tabacco. One joint has about as much tar as a pack of cigarettes. Both are horrible for you and you'll live longer if you dont smoke either! But hey, do what you want!

marijuana has more tar and resin in the smoke but less of the additives like ammonia and what not that you can find in cigarette smoke. so the side effects of smoke and tar are the same for either, but the side effects that are mostly from the extra poisons in cigarette smoke won't be as prevalent in marijuana

Cigarettes contain tobacco and about 50 other chemicals.
Marijuana has no nicotine, and no chemicals.
They are not the same in any way.

Don't worry about your skin, honey, you're way superficial... worry about your lungs, because smoke is smoke, with or without nicotine. Marijuana also causes lung cancer, not just cigarettes. If you smoke it pure, without tobacco, there is less toxic **** in it, but smoke is still smoke.

Marijuana smoke is just as bad. People in burning buildings are inhaling SMOKE, not nicotine, and can die from it. Smoke is smoke is smoke when it is in your lungs.

PLUS, marijuana kills brain cells. Really.
