My suggestions is to flip through photography magazines. I always find photo contests in them.

I found one recently in a waiting room magazine, check out the webpage www.fashionrocks06.com/sony

I haven't looked at it yet, but it's worth a try.

Before entering any contests, read the rules. In most, you give up all future rights to your own photograph. You may not wish to do this unless the prize is really huge.

http://www.photos-of-the-year.com is the site that I enter photos in. I don't think you win anything but a certificate, but other photographers get to cricize your work. Some of the tips can be helpful.
