Yes, I accidently left my credit card on top of a gas pump once. Someone took int into the gas attendant, who thankfully knew me and called me!! I was so grateful, because I was frantically looking for it. There are still honest people out there!

Yes, there are honest people, even in unexpected places!
My husband lost his wallet on a college campus several years back, and another student tracked him down and met him back on campus to return the wallet.
Also, I was visiting from out of town in a large city when I left my purse on the back of a chair in a restaurant. I was terrified about the loss of all of my personal information. A friend called information for the number for the restaurant, and the people at that restaurant said nothing had been turned in. But we returned to the restaurant to be safe - and found out we had called the wrong location. The restaurant had my purse and the manager scolded me for not having contact information prominently placed in my purse so that she could get in touch with me.
Additionally, I don't know how it adds to the true and honest people argument, but I once left my driver's license on a copying machine at the post office. It must happen pretty frequently, because the post office actually has specially designed envelopes that they return them in - they just slide them in and away they go to the owner (providing the address info on the card is correct).

I have returned 2 cell phones and a purse I had found. I gave the purse to a mall security after finding it in the ladies room and I found the owners of the cell phones by scrolling through their phones until i found the name home- wrote the number down, called them and got it back to them.
The one lady whose phone i had found brought me a box of chocolate and the guy just said thanks.
I would want someone to return my belongings if lost so i try and do the same. I dont even care if they take the money- i just would want my stuff returned.

Ohhhh yeah twice. My husband left our bank card in a ATM at a car show and someone took it to the cops up there and they got it back to us. Then another time my son (4 yrs old) got my money sitting in the shopping cart and stuck it down a pipe thing and they found it and returned it.

I left my wallet in a taxi cab once, and the lady that got in after me found it and looked me up on information to get me my wallet back. And once my wallet fell out when I was at a bar, and someone turned it in to a police officer so they could let me know if had been found! There really are nice people out there still!!

Yes, I had my purse stolen from me, the guys who stole it threw it into the trash because I never carry anything in a purse that i wouldn't care to lose. A kind person saw my purse, got it and returned it to me immediately, I was very thankful.

I actually was visiting New York and left my two-way pager in a taxi. About a month later someone sent it back to me. I was very shocked because I thought I would never get that thing back. The person sent it anonymous.

Yes, someone once returned my Ipaq pocket computer to me. Worth about $400.00 and highly untraceable. I think that was a great show of honesty.
