Most of Europe's prefers a stronger more full bodied coffee to Americans, and they only drink 2-3 a day, they also blend and roast it differently as to there taste.

Espresso in the US is best enjoyed for best results even in California, at tradtional ethnic cafes, prepared by barristas of knowledge, Starbucks and other commercial places do not let things steep or choose a lesser grade of bean.

If you ever get a chance there are 2 other types of coffee to try, Ethiopian, Cafe Masala (India) or Vietnamese, both will show that coffee isa universally diverse beverage.
