Does seems rather silly to fill the rest of the universe with rocks and gases, doesn't it? What's the point? Why create this huge universe full of stuff and then only work on a nearly infinitely small portion of it? Does god suffer from ocd?

Who says he did? There are trillions of star systems in this galaxy, and trillions of galaxies. As far as we know, there are millions of inhabited or inhabitable planets.

By the way, evolution is not the same thing as progress and spreading out to other planets through technical advancement and time.

We're not entirely sure "he" did create only one.

Additional Comment:
You've now gone and reduced our infinitely vast universe down to a relatively small solar system diminishing your once thought provoking question.

we not in any respect say that there aren't any liveable planets available. even with if there aren't any further any, all you should to is to seem on the sheer elegance of what we've got here upon so some distance. the ask your self and complexity of all of that's breathtaking. i'm surprised each and every time i look at photos of what's presented previous our petty differences. the universe proclaims the majesty and mind's eye of He who created it. all and sundry who isn't surprised at what lies available is blind. and they are deluding themselves in the journey that they couldn't see an smart layout.

If he made only one life-accomodating planet, then the rest of the universe is a waste of space.
