Well, I think magick can work, and certainly malicious magick may work as well. But most modern Witches believe that everything comes back to the practitioner. I bet those magicians have extremely miserable lives and are always afraid.

Also, I believe that prayers and other interactions with the Divine can be used in malicious, manipulative ways--no frogs or feces required.

most people that practice Magic see it in the light of the intent of which it is used.

if the intent is to help someone or thing, then it is positive magick.

if the intent is to harm then it is negative magick.

Black is a Color. and is niether positive or negative. people have used the term BLACK MAGIC to demonise magick as a whole.
the color black is associated with death and in most western coltures death is a very negative thing. this is why black magic sounds so "EVIL". when i think of Black i think of the direction of the west and the totem of the Bear. the bear represents strength and protection. so when i am working on a protection spell i will usually use the color black the direction west and the totem Bear. to me Black Magick is protection magick.

our african brothers and sisters may do things differently, but that does not make it evil.

YES! Watch out for the practicers of black magick! You don't want to be controlled! And there are "black" witches all over the world. Not just in Asia.

Well people do engage in toad licking to get high, not realizing that only certain toads excrete hallucinogenic poisons, but all carry salmonella.

I believe people do engage in the practices, sometimes combined with drugs and self-induced hysteria. I also believe it is complete superstitious nonsense and if any of it worked we would all practice magic, because we'd all like to curse someone, or attract someone without having to do the hard work of opposing an enemy or earning a love interest. But it's salami, salami, baloney.
