The Porsche 944 was not a good car. The design of a front engine, rear transmission developed numerous clutch and drive-line problems. The design was an Audi design, and the car was never successful. As a new car I would not recommend it and as a twenty year old used car I would steer you in any other direction.

I have never heard anyone say anything good about the 944. It is one of their ugliest models and apparently the crappiest. That is probably why it is in a 16 year old's price range... Don't do it.

No. Those cars are very expensive to maintain. You probrably better off with something newer with a factory warranty. I'm sure at 16 you don't have alot of extra cash to spend on repairs.

if you have alot of money for parts and repairs, then go for it. also your insurance will cost a fortune. the best car for a 16 yr old is a honda civc, look for a EX coupe, they have lots of goodies, cheap and easy to fix and there are lots of accessories available.

If you live where it snows....NO ! ! ! ! ! !
Mechanically they're pretty good. When it needs to be repaired (and it will eventually) they can get a bit expensive. Insurance is probably your biggest financial hurdle. Definately has a cool factor, no problem getting dates. If you get one PLEASE spend an extra $1K or so to take a performance driving class to better handle what your ego is going to be telling you to do.
