Although you have "only" received a caution, this will remain on your file for some 4 (or maybe 5) years and will be brought up if you re-offend during this time. So you haven't really "got away with" anything.

However, from what you say, you seem to have learnt from this experience and that can only be good. You obviously need to try and avoid violent or stressful situations to avoid behaving in this manner in the future.

Perhaps another visit to your GP or specialist would help also - although you say you are taking medication, perhaps it it not working as well as it could and may need adjusting.

I know very little about ADHD but I do believe that SOME people use it as an excuse for bad behaviour. Perhaps there are other avenues you could explore to help control it - like relaxation classes, or an absorbing hobby or study???

Anyway, Good Luck.

That is a cop out (No pun intended!) Just because you have ADHD, does not give you the right to assault anyone, but especially a police officer and then blame it on your meds or lack of them!!! Police have to deal with enough s hit, without having losers like you use lame excuses to assault them!! I come from a law enforcement family and I am so sick of people disrespecting the police, but then calling them as soon as they need help. Get a backbone, stop making excuses for yourself, take responsibility for your actions, call the cop you hit and apologize. All this ADHD crap is a self-fulfilling prophecy, and if you were never diagnosed with it you would be using something else as an excuse. Stay out of trouble, and then you won't have to worry about being arrested.

You got lucky just try to not do it again! I am willing to bet that if you do it again they will not drop it.

Coppers are only government paid thugs (in a legal sense) they protect gov't money such as taxes, motor insurance etc. use heavy handed tactics to prevent anyone from trying to rip the gov't off. But, if you rape a few women, beat up a couple of oldies and rob a few houses, they will come after you, as long as its not on their TEA BREAK

Wow, how did you manage that? You're lucky they didn't really beat you!

I've often wondered is being a sociopath a requirment for being a cop or do they just turn into one from the job.
