I have this rash on my inner thigh. I have had it for a couple of months now. It is itchy and a little sore. It doesn't spread though. I do have sensitive skin. I can't get it to go away. It is very uncomfortable because when I walk my pants rub it and irritate it and it hurts. Can anyone tell me what this could be. And yes I already know to see a doctor.

I know what ring worm looks like..I had it before, and I use lotion every day. I have tried powder too. Could it just be that I gained some weight and my thighs rub together so they get irritated?

It very well could be that you're just chafing. There is a product out there (I can't remember the name) that is made for people who spend a lot of time in wet suits. You should be able to find it at your local sporting goods store. It's a lotion that contains talc...It goes on smooth, and stays on for quite a while. You might give that a try.

A couple of months is a long time to suffer from this itch. For local application, lavender (you could get it from an herbal store) is the answer to itch. But since it's been there a long time, I would normally ask my doctor if I can take oral medicine so that it can be removed much faster. They say that when your skin erupts, it is an indication that something is wrong in the internal organs as well. The esternal rash is a manifestation of the illness inside the body. So, you shouldn't take this lightly.

It could be ringworm, that was the first hing I thought of, because while it usually spreads, it can also just sort of stay the same size, too. In the area you're talking about it will get very aggrivated by rubbing from your jeans, or sweat. If you have pets they can carry it and give it to you, it is easily treated. Don't itch it and touch anywhere else though, it can spread pretty easy if it wants to, and you don't want to get it in your eyes.

Either eczema, or it could just be from your pants if they have a seam that rubs against your thigh which could start the irritation and keep it there, because sometimes I've had shorts that do that.

Eczema perhaps. This is caused by dry skin. I suggest using lotion after you shower on the area. You might also try Gold Bond powder on the area to reduce chafing.

Heat rash? Try applying powder - stay away from lotions.
