It really depends on how long you have known her, and what sort of conversations of what subject......
Have you shared each other's photos?
Have a webcam - the both of you?
Do you share each other's similiar interests?
Are you both in the same age - group?
Are you both working?
Do you both have kids?
These are the majority of questions you have to ask yourself before you can sit down, think long, hard about this situation and have reached to a decision.
If kids are involved then you have to accept them as part of a package, that goes for both of you not just you.
It is a two way thing as in loyalty, respect, trust and compromise.
This whole scenario has never happpened to me before but I have read a lot of dubious stories of where genuine people have been seriously hurt.
The bottom line is: It is a very slim chance of it to work out, for your own well-being and safety.
Hope this helps as to reaching to a decision.

I was in the same situation. It was great for a while being apart, and we finally decided to give it a try and I moved to his country. I was unable to work in his country due to a 3 year waiting list for a work visa (even if we married I would have to wait) and I depeleted my $25,000 savings in about 6 months. I eventually, sadly decided to go home. I missed him and it was really hard to be alone at home, but I know it was the right decision. In hindsight, I wish I had never persued it. I don't know if this will help you decide, but I would concentrate on finding someone closer. Best Wishes!

It is not unknown for people who have found themselves in this situation to eventually meet up...I suspect the success rate is very rare though.I've heard about a lot of long distance relationships like this failing-you could get hurt very badly.Try talking on the phone, exchanging photos etc,but always remember that essentially you are talking to a 'stranger'...It's very hard to get to know someone online,so be careful.
Good luck.

how is she giving you compliments over the internet? and how old are you? not to get all parental on you, but that's kind of dangerous if you're underage -- underage as in under 18. if you're old enough to have your own life, then try to find a way to meet this girl. if you're still a teen, then I'd advise you move on. you still have a whole life ahead of you. focus on your grades and goals and your future career. this girl is just a waste of time if you haven't even seen her.

I got ripped off by a girl that I thought loved me who was from a different country. There are girls overseas waiting to pray off nice guys like you and I. Don't fall for this scam unless you actually want to go over there and see her. If she asks you to pay her way to America, you will never see that money again!

well do you think that either of ye are in a position to move?
If thatwouldnt be an issue (obviously after ye meet etc etc a good few times) then I say go for it.
I think you should talk to her about your feelings though and see if shes feeling the same way - or she just being friendly and not emotionally involved to the extent you are.
Good luck! xx

If you fall in love with somebody from another country, it's the most exciting thing that can happen to you! Everything is just that little bit different: conversations, jokes, sex,... Great!
But if it turns into a long-term relationship, things get complicated. Trust me, it won't be easy!

Use this opportunity to get to know her heart and mind without the physical attraction aspect, if there is really chemistry then move to the next phase, go to meet her.

i'm in a long distance relationship, and its going great. take it up one more level. instead of talking on yahoo messenger, try the phone!
then webcam etc..
Skype is best for this, i strongly recommend it, and it's free.
good luck!
