im making some sugar cookies and the recipe calls for half cup of butter that has 65% vegetable oil, but i only have butter that is 48% butter, is it alright? whats some alternatives

It'll be fine. The consistency of the cookies may be a little different, but you probably wont notice a thing.

First of all, butter is pure animal fat derived from milk. If it has anything other than butter fat in it, it is not butter: FDA regulations. You shouldn't have any problems with the cookies. They may be a little more or a little less crumbly than cookies the recipe might ordinarily produce, but they should be okay.

there is such products as pure butter, and that is probably what the recipe is calling for. try the "land o lakes" sweet cream butter or the "land o lakes" unsalted sweet cream butter. those to are the pure butters with no added oils or water in the product...great for baking!!!

Use what you have on hand. The consistency and flavor shouldn't change, except for the better.
