Since man was made in the image of God, then does it follow that plants and animals are made in the image of angels? And is the earth itself perhaps made in the image of heaven?

I find it interesting that in spite of the fact that you've asked a mocking question, you have quite remarkably stumbled upon a spiritual truth not many have discovered.

Your final sentence makes reference to the earth itself being made in the image of heaven.

It is.

In Eze 1 you'll find a reference to the throne of God in heaven. There are four living creatures before the throne. You'll find the same scene in Rev 4:7.

Now focus your attention to Genesis chapter 2 and read about how the earth is divided into four sections as a result of the river which proceeds from Eden and divides into four heads to water the face of the earth.

This pattern of the throne of God occurs throughout the Bible.

In Genesis 1:1 Time, space, matter and energy are introduced. I find it fascinating that there are four components involved, and God in the center as the prime-mover of creation, just like his throne.

The Temple has four precincts, Jacob had four wives, the tribes marched under four banners, the stars of the heavens are divided into four quadrants, there are four eons or ages appointed to this creation, Jesus said there are four kinds of people (Matt 13:3-9). The list goes on . . .

As far as plants and animals in the image of angels? I dunno.

Men are like plants because they have cells and reproduce. Men are like animals because, well, they ARE animals. Men are like angels because you can imagine a man, just like you imagine angels. The only difference being that men exist outside of the imagination whereas angels do not.

no, only man is made in the image of God. nothing else is made in the image of anything, God just made them that way to cope w/ their environment.
