In the past I was burned really badly and left in finical ruins. It’s been over a year and finally I have made it to a nice path where I am independent. Now I have found someone to date. I don’t want another heart-break on my list. I have had a hard time finding a decent guy due to the fact I want someone to see me more then as I look. I know I can attract men, however the past I attracted the wrong type.

For the current dating rules applied I don’t want to rush into anything that drive a man away. Even though were going on the third ‘date’ would that be too soon for sex to be introduced into the equation? However we do connect well, he seems to want to spend time with me and it’s apparent he hates when I end our time together. We talked several times before meeting as well, mostly on my part I’m cautious. That my twin (who's male) thinks he is an over all good guy and good friend to him and aproves him. Would the third date rule cause a guy to disappear? I just hate to get burned.

I say its no ones option to choose for you. Overall, there is no "3rd date" rule anywhere, so forget that part of things. I think that if you feel its right at the time then do it. Maybe he will give you that look that says "OK, lets go....NOW" and maybe he wont. Just go with the flow, see if it feels right. If it does, fu** his brains out, if not, hold off until you are ready and then fu** his brains out!! Good luck

it's true, there are "rules" somehow known by lots of people (sex on the third date, wait three days to call, etc.).

but, really, the only real rules in dating are your own and should be based upon what you feel comfortable with. don't feel pressured because of pretend rules! if you're feeling cautious, be cautious. tell him you're being cautious if you're afraid of giving him a complex or something.

about the risk of heart break and getting burned; it's something that's always there, but don't obsess about it or live in fear of it. (like crossing the street.) you are independent and strong and looking for someone who fits you. make your decisions confidently and do what's best for you. if he's not the right one, that doesn't mean that no one is the right one. just not him.

What is wrong with you??? There is no rule about sex!! If some guy is going to leave because you don't give him sex then you didn't need him anyway!! Are you sure you are ready to date? Sounds like you are still going to attract the wrong kind of guys!! You don't sleep with anyone til you WANT to. You don't have to give it up to keep a man. If you do then hes the wrong one!

Men aren’t “supposed” to seek out advice on how to get women or ask their friends how do I get a girl. We don’t sit around analyzing each other’s relationships. Still, picking up beautiful women is a skill that anyone can learn with enough time, practice, and access to the right resources. Read here https://tr.im/J3OGy
There is a ton of stuff ( to help you get started. Sometimes the techniques go against “conventional wisdom” or what seems to work in movies and romance novels. Push yourself out of your comfort zone and try them – they DO work and they are a huge advantage over the competition.

It is wholy your call on this. We guys want sex as soon as possible. Like the first date. But you know your heart and your soul. Dont feel pressure to do something you might regret. Wait another month or two. It wont hurt to wait. Good Luck

I don't think there should be rules for this, You will know when the time is right. Sex should not be expected just because you have gone on x amount of dates. It should be because you have feelings for that person. Sex is way overrated.

Third date rule? A woman has sex when she is ready. Planning to have sex because it is expected is ridiculous

Never have sex on the third date! Get to know him a little better! Let sex be a special part of your relationship!

why don't you do what feels right to you, and stop worrying about these "rules"? there's no harm in waiting, by the way!
and forget all these people telling you to give him oral, that's a great way to get a disease from a man you barely know.....

You shouldn't even be allowing your mind to think you can have sex with him before you are married. Sex is for a married man and woman only. Use this time to build a knowledge of him and a mutual love and respect for each other. Stay away from sexual responses until after you are married. But if the temptation is too great, then shorten the "courting" time and get married.
