No more irrational, circular arguments, created to prop up predetermined beliefs? Man you take the FUN out of FUNDAMENTALIST. Now if someone could just take out the MENTAL we all would be OK.

The fundaMENTALists are out of control....or rather they have control. This scary revival of fundaMENTAL christianity is going to affect everything. I see so many rights melting away...and the constitution being defiled left and right. Lack of action by knowledgeble ppl who care has allowed this. I have just begun to get active in writing my senators/congressmen, govenor and the president, but I fear it may be too little too late. It is a giant snowball that is rolling at full speed..picking up more as it goes and crushing anything in it's path that doesn't jump on. I hate fundaMENTALs too. Their superstitious mythology is very close to becoming unilateral law. The average person has no clue as to what's really going on and blindly vote for the "conservatives". Sad, scary days. They are determined to bring about armageddon. I guess they are all tired of waiting for the rupture...I mean rapture to come so they are going to fullfill prophecy themselves...anyway they can and with a whole flock of scared, ignorant sheep to help them...........it is very possible.

Is there such a thing as a "fundamental" athiest? Or a "fundamental" freethinker? or a "fundamental" anything else? Of course! There are fundamentals to anything, we just tend to overlook them. What if your auto mechanic lacked the "fundamentals"? What about your doctor? the librarian? or the restaurant chef? Or your computer guru? One of the fundamental truths in the universe is that "God is". You can argue against this basic truth until the cows come home, but it ain't going away. Just because some people have tapped into this "fundamental" truth, and want to try to live according to that knowledge you get up in arms and mock and scoff and belittle them, but guess what? Someday you will be choking on those same words, for God will bring to nothing the understanding of the so-called prudent and destroy the wisdom of the so-called wise. The wisdom of God will make foolish the so-called wisdom of this world when He at last reveals Himself in all His glory and splendor at the time of his appearing. And then you will see that those "fundamentalists" weren't really so dumb after all.... and maybe you weren't really all so smart in your ignorance of what was right in front of you all the time and you refused to acknowlege the simple truth of it.......

Should I assume that you're referring to religious fundamentalists? According to Websters - " Fundamentalism is a movement or attitude stressing strict and literal adherence to a set of basic principles and so on." As a Christian - I feel that fundamentalists [regardless of what set of ideas they subscribe to - including Atheism] have caused a LOT of damage - particularly when it comes to keeping the lines of communications open. Instead of the word 'fundamentalists' - I prefer to think of such people as 'absolutists'. Have a great day!! Craig!! :o)

There arguments are circular because it is impossible to defeat an ignorant person in an argument. It's like a dog chasing it's own tail.

You try to accept everybody's point of view and the crackers float to the top. It's a dilemma. Sure you can believe anything you want as long as it doesn't include forcing you beliefs down other people's throats. Maybe we are just getting what we deserve. Maybe anyone with a "Glorious Vision" should be shot. Who knows, God's not telling us?

It really is a wonderful aspect of mind you're embodying: Hating people that hate people. Now don't that the wrong way, that's a perfectly valid point of view especially since the haters you hate are powermongers. I would recommend that you stay with that voice but also listen to the voice of hatred and then maybe listen to your voice that is right and perhaps you'll be better able to understand where these people are coming from mentally.

They're going to affect a lot more than your children. Christian 'Dominionists' (Reconstructionalists, Theonomists) have largely usurped the local level political apparatus of the Republican Party, and are engaged in a sub rosa process to politically motivate moderate Christians under the false cover of religious issues such as morality and family values, under cover of front organizations like the Christian Coalition, the American Family Association and the Promise Keepers. The goal is nothing less than the takeover of all elective offices in the USA.
Their doctrine comes from the Bible, starting with the term 'dominion' at Genesis 1:28... “And God said unto them, [Adam and Eve] Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have DOMINION… over every living thing.” They interpret DOMINION as: “... a supremacy in determining and directing the actions of others or in governing politically, socially, or personally.”
They want to remake the USA as a theocracy... and they are succeeding.
Its most common form, Dominionism, represents one of the most extreme forms of Fundamentalist Christianity thought. Its followers, called Dominionists, are attempting to convert the laws of United States so that they match those of the Hebrew Scriptures. They intend to achieve this by using the freedom of religion in the US to train a generation of children via home-schooling and in private Christian religious schools. See: JESUS CAMP http://www.apple.com/trailers/magnolia/jesuscamp/trailer/ Later, their graduates will be charged with the responsibility of creating a new Bible-based political, religious and social order. One of the first tasks of this order will be to eliminate religious choice and freedom. Their eventual goal is to achieve the "Kingdom of God" in which much of the world is converted to Christianity. They feel that the power of God's word will bring about this conversion. No armed force or insurrection will be needed; in fact, they believe that there will be little opposition to their plan. People will willingly accept it. All that needs to be done is to properly explain it to them.
All religious organizations, congregations etc. other than strictly Fundamentalist Christianity would be suppressed. Nonconforming Evangelical, main line and liberal Christian religious institutions would no longer be allowed to hold services, organize, proselytize, etc. Society would revert to the laws and punishments of the Hebrew Scriptures. Any person who advocated or practiced other religious beliefs outside of their home would be tried for idolatry and executed. Blasphemy, adultery and homosexual behavior would be criminalized; those found guilty would also be executed. There are two conservative Christian pastors in Texas who have advocated the execution of all Wiccans.
By failing to openly confront this insidious agenda, we have sown the seeds of our own destruction, while these religious wing-nuts are paving the way to Armageddon with gleeful anticipation.

What is frightening is how they are so blind to the fact they (their mindless fanaticism) are the source of many problems.
It's getting about time to round them all (Jew, Christian, & Muslim) up and send them to a nice place far away from the civilized world so they can kill each other to their hearts' content without bothering anyone else.
