I'm not a hugely nit-picky person, but it bugs me when people within a 20 foot radius of my desk eat canned tuna. I try not to bring things to work that are too crunchy or smell strongly and generally don't care what other people bring. But tuna...tuna gets to me...

I didn't ask for rudeness, I just asked if it bothers you. Yes, strong perfume can suck, too. It's opinion time, not tear each other down time. Lordy people are touchy...

Besides, I love my co-workers. :)

BTW, I love tuna. Fresh, canned whatever - At home or away from other people. It *is* a perfect food.

It's the smell...a lot of people are sensitive to it. It's a matter of being aware that the people around you might not be so gung ho about having to whif your tuna fish. :)

I work in the league of nations, so it's a combination of Indian curry, Chinese I'm not sure what, Korean kim-chee. If the culture is that you eat at your desk, it's what you do - perhaps the better idea is to get the trash can far away so that it doesn't reek past lunch -

live and let live - loosen up. Sorry that tuna bothers you, but it is one of the healthiest lunches you can get (I have a few cans in my desk right now).

Oh for goodness sake YES!

Any kind of fish that is packed in oil or water even, STINKS. I am not as kind as you are and will pick myself up and go right over and say something.. " please take that to the break room, I am getting sick from having to smell the odor". The smell of canned fish for some odd reason brings on a gag reflex in me and I can no longer concentrate on what I have to do. >:(

we had a person at our work place that would eat a lot of things straight out of the can, Chung King Chicken was the big gross out, along with canned spinach or sardines was another goody. I think i could handle the canned tuna.

Well tuna sandwiches don't smell to strongly. But if you mean they are opening a fresh can up, then I do think that's kind of rude. They aren't considering the people around them.
Walk by them and wrinkle your nose. Not ignorantly, but like "pee-yew"! Maybe they'll catch a hint...

The tuna doesn't bother me as much as when they re-heat seafood in the microwave. That's the worst!

OK, what else do you want to have your co-workers cut out??? I do not like the smell of some perfumes, but do not say anything. What if that is all they can afford to eat? Butch up and go out to eat. That way everyone is happy.
