In the U.S. we do!
It is currently an optional form of execution in the U.S. states of Alabama, South Carolina and Virginia, and the sole method of execution in Nebraska (the former three states allow the prisoner to choose lethal injection as an alternative method). In the states of Kentucky and Tennessee, the electric chair has been retired except for those whose capital crimes were committed prior to legislated dates in 1998. [Kentucky 31 March 1998, Tennessee 31 December 1998]. In both Kentucky and Tennessee, the method of execution authorized for crimes committed after these dates is lethal injection. The electric chair is an alternate form of execution approved for potential use in Illinois and Oklahoma if other forms of execution are found unconstitutional in the state at the time of execution. In Florida, the condemned may choose death by electrocution, but the default is lethal injection.

The electric chair is an American invention, and it never caught on internationally. China kills more people than all other countries combined (according to official government records), and they kill by a single bullet shot to the back of the head. Other countries typically use hanging and beheading. Even the United States has abandoned the electric chair in favor of lethal injection. The last state that now retains the electric chair will probably never use it again. Virtually all U.S. death penalty states now kill their condemned prisoners by lethal injection.

The US still uses the electric chair in some states. Other states use lethal injection and I believe even the gas chamber is still used.

I believe Florida still has 'ol sparky. Couple years ago I read an ad in the newspaper Florida had purchased. It read "If you are considering the murder of another person. Don't do it here in Florida as we are having some trouble with 'ol sparky." Guess one of the last dudes they fried it blew his eyeballs out and there was a major fire all about his skull. Good for Florida, that's some deterrent!!!

I remember a case in Delaware where somebody asked to be stoned to death. Not the good kind of stoned, the bad kind. The angry mob throwing large stones at you. Very barbaric, but he asked and the state complied.
