No it is not a bad example for you to use. That is the assessment of 1 of numerous astronomers. Some believe it should be a planet some don't. So, since there is no decisive agreement I don't see why it still cannot be used.

No, it's not a bad example. I'm pretty sure you never stated "Pluto, the planet, it's really a planet and that's important to my question". You could easily have picked the moon, or BFE =)

Example of what?

The "certainty" of science versus the "belief" in God?

Besides, it was a whole group of astronomers who voted Pluto out of the club.

Is it a bad example for you to use? A bad example of WHAT? Of a planet? Yeah, it would be bad example of a planet especially considering you have 8 other actual planets to choose from.

It may not be a planet, but it's still there.
There is definitive proof that Pluto exists. Concrete evidence.
Therefore, I think that would be right up your alley, and that it would be OK for you to use it as an example.

I think they should have made all the 'little planets' full planets. Could you imagine the mnemonic you'd need to remember over a THOUSAND planet's names?

And you thought,

"My Very Easy Mother Just Scored Unseemly Nookie Points" was bad.

Mmm... not really, no. I mean of course it can't support life so maybe that's a reason it's not a good example, but neither can any of the other "real" planets, so it's not worse an example than them.
