I'm a private tutor in SW London. I charge £20 + travvel for one hour up to GCSE level. For A level or above I charge £25 + travel. This may seem a lot but it has to take into account the time I spend looking at students work outside of the actual tutorial and the time I spend hunting down materials etc. Travel is charged at £1 per mile up to a maximum of £5.

Although £20 + per hour sounds quite a lot my yearly salary was probably only about £5000 as you can only teach school kids after school ends, and not go too late at night, I managed a maximum of three hours a night last year, but only because it was a client who had one hour followed by a client who needed two hours. I couldn't have done three separate clients in an evening.

if you had qualified teacher status(qts) it would be about £40 per hour for supply (inner london higher) £28-£35 full time contract and a salary of £28k

if you are a newly qualified teacher (nqt) clasroom teachers start on £22k or £23 per hour,

hope this helps, whatever its never enough 4 the hours worked !

Depends on what is to be taught and ages of pupil.
Varies in different areas can be anywhere from £18 per.hour upwards.
If that is what you are looking for and cannot afford try buying Sats learning type software for key stage two
