you have to be willing to follow ALL rules
if you want to be commercial pilot, you must be a plesant person to work with

As a trainee pilot, I can't know for sure, but already I find that being able to handle a few things at the same time comes in handy. e.g. handling the radio on the final turn before landing etc.
Of course motivation is important to encourage your instructor (especially if he's teaching you the same thing for the 10th time!) as is calm and being able to listen and learn. Practice doing mental calculations for Navigation, but that will come later.
Also later comes the theoretical test, so a pilot's PPL manual will tell you what you need to know.
No particular school level is needed for a private pilot's license.
The most important thing is to love flying and airplanes. Don't get into it for any other reason.

If you can drive a car with a clutch and manual transmission, you have the skills to fly a small airplane. The rest comes with proper training.

For more info, contact one of your local FBOs or check out this web site...

The main skill that tends to not be as teachable is the hand eye coordination for landing, if you can t get that down then you won t be considered safe enough to fly solo.

If you ve got that the other and more challenging aspect is learning and applying the incredible amount of procedural, systems, and weather knowledge required to fly safely.

It s a challenge but well worth it. The biggest asset is the enduring desire to fly and work at it.
