Mark 10:21
"Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me."

It says clearly to give up ALL your money, not 10%. This means that whatever you give to charity and what not is NOT enough in the eyes of god. And yes, Jesus was referring to greed and love of money, but if you are not willing to give up your fancy clothes or your car, you are committing the same sin as this man. There is no way around it. If you give up your car, you could learn to take the bus or walk.

Since people were uncomfortable giving me money, I am asking you to send all your money to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, The Children’s Miracle Network, or some other form of charity. All you have to do is prove with legal papers that you have followed Jesus’ word. And no, you’re not proving anything to “me” by doing this.

Hallelujah!! This reflects modern religious leaders unwillingness to focus on the more uncomfortable passages of the bible and of jesus' teachings. They have found religious rationalizations for secular success and propagated these ideas.

no longer overly pertinent to me as long as concern mongering(heighten wisdom) is left on the door step. If version and mitigation prepare effectual whats the problem? the easy guy is doing extra beneficial than their share of the lifting. bypass to the source and get them to describe why they are in a position to't regulate. Governments of any style do no longer p.c. to be held responsible for pi_s adverse judgements. Their strategies are continuously condensed into extra taxes with much less reward on a similar time as blaming somebody else. I very almost bought into the C40 community( version), however the extra I study the extra cynical I grew to alter into. they are no longer something yet showcases, on a similar time as small community municipalities are missed because of the fact their voices fall on deaf ears.

No, you're right. That's why Jesus said "It is easier for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to get into heaven."

The rich man has much more to lose.

Jesus encouraged begging. He didn't even allow his disciples to have a "beggars bowl", as you were to have nothing.

Jesus gave many examples. Rich men donated to the church, but he was more impressed when a poor woman donated...as it was much harder for her to afford.

You just need to read a little farther where Jesus explains that yes no man can save himself or do enough but God can.

But then... if you give your money to the poor, aren't you forcing the poor to sin by having money, then? Are they supposed to give it to someone else, and then they to someone else until it's all eventually in the hands of evil people who don't care if they sin or not?

If that's the case, then we're all going to hell. My wife and I already give to St Judes, but we don't give THAT much.
