It doesn't say "This is God's money", the founding fathers thought it appropriate to put the message down on money to convey their trust in Him. Keep in my mind there was a lot of war and civil wars going on when this came to light. So maybe it was their way of asking God for help.
But my religious side tells me that God probably doesn't like His name on money. He has no need for it. But it does say we can use money to give alms to the poor.
Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar;
Give to God what belongs to God.
Like, love, honor, trust, faith charity, and the following of the commandments.
I love God :o]

Well Jimbo you have to know history and I don't think you do. The colonials used to tar and feather you agnasties and ride you out of town on a rail.
There were no more agnasties to object when the masons put "In God We Trust" on the coins at the mint.
You've discovered a conspiracy!

I use plastic for the most part, but when I do get my hands on some real cash I like to cross out "god" and write "Zeus" under it. Thanks Kenny!

Who cares whether God's name is on the money or not? "Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's and give unto God what is God's." They tried to trip Jesus up with nonsensical issues like that, and the same wisdom shared then applies today.

The way I see it, is they are simply words, and considering I do not believe in god, the words in god we trust, are meaningless letters put together to make a few meaningless words.

Money is nothing more than a way to exchange goods and has nothing to do with God.

I'd just use a debit card or credit card.
Money is just transferable debits or credits.
In God we trust, All others pay cash.

Doesn't bother me, all I care about are the big numbers in the corners. I'd rather sit around and count my money than read it.
