This is going to sound really bad, especially if Shiraz Princess picks up this question... but... I will, on rare occasion, swig down a bit of Paisano with my meatball sub or spaghetti. I have a friend who's Italian and from New Jersey and she says this is what her mother and grandmother both would drink for every day - lol

Personal preference for me would be Straccali chianti or better yet, Santa Cristina Sangiovese... but... when I'm feeling frugal I get Citra Montepulciano D'Abruzzo and when I'm feeling smarmy and rough around the edges, I'll pick up the Carlo Rossi Paisano. I just like the name - lol

And then I drink it in a dirty water glass, wipe off my wine moustache and smoke a cigar :)

Hey don't pick on me. As it happens I just checked and
Carlos Rossi is not available here. However I unscrewed a bottle of red last night and enjoyed it, Bottle Tree Red from Australia.

We do however have Boone's - Sangria maybe similar, but I'd rather have a beer.
