What really perplexes me is - why does a person have to forsake evolution if he /she believes in the Creation? Am I reading something in Genesis that others are not reading? Don’t let the apparent simplicity of Genesis fool you. It’s more profound than that.

Every time somebody slanders nature, which is God’s creation, isn’t it disrespecting the works of God? God created life forms with the ability to adapt over time. Simplistic Creationists slander that. God created the magnificent dinosaurs. They get slandered. God created life on earth that stood the tests of 4.5 Billion years, refusing to let extinction after extinction wipe all life out. 4.5 billion years of God’s masterpieces get slandered!

Prehistoric animals could have been described in the Bible. Genesis could have described a simple form of evolution. But that too would get slandered. It is my sincere hope that more people would appreciate the grand scope of all God’s creations, through time and space, past and present.

Fireball's response is exactly the kind of response expected by a person who can't stand up to the challenge of faith vs science. As for the question asked, many of the ten commandment are broken everyday by people of faith. Two which were posted above by Pcolasun..., and how about "Thou shalt not kill?" Historically religion is responsible for the murder of millions of people. From the crusades to the Holocaust. And before anyone responses by saying "They were taking the Bible out of context." Just remember how many times religious groups tried to ban music or movies for having been taking out of context.

Considering that creationism and evolutionary theory are not mutually exclusive, I would have to say that it boils down to control. There are many in this world who seek to control others by controlling thought, and by extension belief. The same people who say that an interpretation of time in Revelations must be made to explain the 1000 year discrepancy there, will argue vehemently that the 7 days of creation listed in Genesis refer to a literal time frame. Darwin himself explained his theory of evolution as a tool used by the creator.

We would be bearing false witness if we did not glorify God, who gave us the 10 Commandments.

The bunk is in those who try to say that God does not exist.

The truth will stand.

Evolution is a theory, by the way; not even scientists claim it to be anything more than a theory that has not been 100 % proven.

Okay… to witness evolution, wouldn't you have to be alive for thousands of years? You could witness the outcome of evolutions, but that in itself isn't really proof. There could be other explainations not having witnessed the process first hand.

I'm trying really hard not to roll my eyes at the flaw in your argument, but…

You mean the 8 commandments? Christians "covet" left and right, plus they don't observe the biblical Sabbath.

They don't know they're lying, they are speaking what they believe is truth from people they believe speaks from god.

Fireball, if you want respect you have to EARN it. 'Demanding' it just shows how absolutely clueless you are about the nature of respect.

P.S. Sorry I'm not responding to your question, dude. 'Fireball' conveniently decided NOT to include an email address so we can message her directly.

Actually, Fireball, you don't get to DEMAND anything. You're a horrid ***** with no respect for others' religions, but now you have the audacity to DEMAND that people respect Christianity? Just what kind of a nutcase are you?

No one is going to leave just because you want them to. Pull your head out of your loose ***, because no one likes your incessant, intolerant bitching.
