He has only been sleeping through for about a week now. No teeth yet but can that contribute to not being able to rest. I give him tylenol but feel bad drugging him sometimes. He is my fourth and last. The other 3 were not like this at all.

each child is different, you've already figured that out! my daughter was sleeping through the night at one month - my son was 2 years plus before he slept through! Both were exclusively breast fed - at 8 months old it's probably not always a matter of being hungry, just looking for a cuddle from Mom. It'll happen soon enough, and you'll miss it...

I have four boys and my last son is only 12 months old and has only been sleeping through the night for about 3-4 months. It just takes getting him on a schedule and feeding him really well before he goes to sleep. He may not sleep though the night until he is completely weaned, though. I had one like that too. Until I cut off the breast feeding and went to a cup, he did not sleep all night long. Good Luck, I know it can be frustrating!

My baby didn't sleep all the way through the night until about the 11 month mark. DON'T FEEL BAD ABOUT GIVING TYLENOL!!! I used to feel like I was "Drugging" my kid too, but they need relief from the pain just like you and I would. Just give the dose recomended by your doc. Good luck!

Want to alternate toddlers? LOL. Just kidding! : ) If he is dozing via the night time already, you're soo fortunate! Have you attempted nursing him earlier than you move to paintings, then pump at lunch, and bfeed him while you get house from paintings? Then nurse him within the night earlier than you place him to mattress? That's what I do. Then at the weekend, preserve the equal time table. If he is dozing whilst you are complete, simply pump and feed this milk while you are no longer round. But whilst you are with him, take capabilities and nurse him. Also relaxation whilst he sleeps, he would difference his sample. Hope that is helping!

My son hates naps and is 18 months now but he only started sleeping thru the night at 12 months when we took the bottle away from him? I used water in bottles to break him and he decided he didn't want them any longer and started sleeping finally. You will proubley just have to ride it out until he thinks its time. The doctor told me he would start sleeping all night at three months ya right

Establish bedtime & naptime routines & stick to them & its ok to wake them up if the sleep/nap too long, the whole point being getting them into a habit.

A pretty good article here:

has links to older age sleeping problems as well
