There are no formal text and thorough research of Ginseng in the English language, save those with commercial bias.
The general gist is:
- Amplification of effects. Such effects take in the sum total of food consumed and generally prolongs the effect.
If you had good food, the effects are amplified and imbues the person with greater stamina and so on.
Conversely, if a painkiller that numbed the senses were taken together with Ginseng, the effects are prolonged, which could be a bad thing.
Story has it that a Korean emperor was supposedly immobilised because he had taken the prescribed, at the time unknown Ginseng (not native to Korea), with a tonic meant to slow the blood and heart.
The quality and geographical growth of Ginseng will vary the effects. Poor harvests have generally known to give rise to insomnia and Yin/yang "hot", where a person with fever should avoid it altogether. Persisting in consuming it will lead to a higher fever. It is also not recommended to persons undergoing pregnancy of certain stages, which does not preclude the person in taking it at the right time.
Royal jelly is supposed to buffer the rougher side effects of Ginseng and boost efficacy of the royal jelly, of which one property is to reduce allergies of the person consuming it over a certain period of time, and in some cases eliminate specific allergies altogether.
