Thank you all for great answers. People were making me paranoid by saying they would not get along. I think they will and my dog is social with other dogs. I just do not want her to be jealous, because she was here first.

At the same time, I want to help and support the puppy that was abandoned.

Should be ok, I have 2 females together without any problems.

Just go about the introducions with firm control of the puppy, let the older dog get used to the puppy first for a few days before you let them freely play.

If the older dog grizzles, just give her some time out, puppies can become over bearing at times.

They sould end up great mates eventually.

If your fox terrier is well socialized and enjoys the companionship of other dogs, you should be ok. How old is the pug puppy? If very young, you'd need to supervise, especially at the beginning, to make sure they'll get along. Two females together can be worse than 2 males, but it depends on the individual dogs. Make sure your terrier gets as much attention as before - greet her first, feed her first, pet her first. You might want to introduce the dogs with a baby gate in between them at first to see how they react before putting them together. It all depends on the dogs - you should be fine.

Yes they will be fine, your older dog might come around and sniff and once inawhile growl or nip at the puppy which is fine. She is just putting the youngster in her place and letting her know that Im the older dog here. I have a 11 yr old Husky and just recently brought in another female pup of 9 months and they get along just fine. My husky will nip at the pup or growl when she has had enough or putting her in her place as long as it dont get out of hand I leave them alone. My older dog was here first so she is the dominate female of the house .

I always give my first dog her treats first and then the pups that is only fair and her breakfast always comes first .

Good Luck

Yes if you do everything correct.

When you get the pup, you must seperate the dogs. Put the pup in a crate or enclosed balcony or something like that.

Give food, water, sufficient exercise to the pup, but no more attention. These days you must focus on your foxterrier. And you should give more attention to your fox t.

Praise your old dog whenever she behaves nice towards new pup, or completely ignores it. You must punish any sign of aggression immediately, with a sharp "no" and by completely ignoring anything she does on following minutes.

Never let them loose together unless you feel sure that they get along well.

I don't think you should have a problem if you don't give all your attention to the puppy and make your dog jealous. Give them some time to get used to each other, but you should have an alternative should they hate each other. (which only happened to me once (in 30yrs) when a visitor brought over a female puppy who immediately attacked my 3yr old.
Same breed same sex.

how historical are the dogs? it rather is surely high quality to circulate away dogs with their mom for roughly 12 weeks. 8 weeks is technically long sufficient to ween them, even nonetheless they study smart classes from their siblings/mom, so i might propose now not allowing them to circulate away until eventually at last they are 12 weeks. the puppy has been traumatized and might maximum generally relish some issues. i settle for as genuine with you thoroughly, if she couldnt help with the domestic dogs collectively because it became into as quickly as needed, why now can she have a kin dogs? it is not suitable, even nonetheless alot of people are like that, domestic dogs arent nicely sufficient even nonetheless kin dogs are stunning, haha. yeah, some thing. its now not suitable.
