myself and husband pay £5 and mother in law pay's £5 total £10 a week to play the irish lottery my argument is (i might be worng) that we won £500 whooohoo last week and my point is do we split it £250 to mother in law and £250 to share between my self and husband or do we split it 3 ways meaning £166 each what do you all think i should do!

You should split it in the same proportions that you contributed, for example........

you mother-in-law paid for half the ticket,
you and your husband paid for the other half of the ticket

Therefore your mother-in-law should receive half the winnings and you and your husband should get the other half.

If on the other hand you had each paid one third, then you would each have received one third of the winnings, right?

I think 3 way split and then draw up an agreement for future wins!! with luck you will be told by mum in law she only wants half.

Oh my god, you gotta split it halves. If you EACH paid a fiver then, go ahead and split it 3 ways. But you dont so its only fair that you each get the same return from the money you 'invested.'

Good job it was only 500 euros ,a big win would have broke the house up.

2 Ways if you all put in £5.00 then you would split it 3 ways, but as you mother in law puts in the same as you, you shuold split it down the middle...........

Split three ways. That way noone feels slighted.
