When I was downrange we would get a lot of care packages. All the things people mentioned on here were things we liked. Sometimes we were overloaded with things. So we would put the boxes in a place where people could take things they needed. Another thing that people liked were Arts and Crafts. It's something you looked foward to when you were out on missions. But definetely wipes, you couldn't get enough of it. You could send Pork products like jerky and stuff, it is allowed and ham and cheese for the holidays. We would look foward to that as well. Also seasonal items to decorate our living areas. It's great that you are thinking about things to send downrange. This question is never asked too many times.
Good luck.

Stationary, cards they can send home, socks, lotions, puzzle books, word finds, car magazines, part of a local paper to read, pens & pencils, holiday decorations, beef jerkey, sugarless gum, protein bars hard candy such as Jolly Ranchers, facial scrubs, eye drops.
Letters from children and drawn pictures (schools &: churches)
Those are a huge morale booster.
No home made treats - they have no preservatives and could spoil by the time they are eaten. Most throw them out.
Send only packaged foods - nuts in tins are great plus they are added protein. Beef Jerkey is always in high demand.
You can get free boxes at the post office and only pay about $8.00 for shipping it - not a bad deal.
Thank you for caring about our troops!!!!

First you should read the Yahoo library as this has been answered two or three times in the last few days. You cannot send adult books or any pork item this is a Islamic country and we are suppose to respect their laws and religion. When one smuggles in something like a dirty book the information gets out and they hate us that much more. Try hard candy, computer games, books, and best of all letters. God bless you, yours and the Southern People.

EMW:
"Thank You" for your caring and compassion for the military members serving in the Middle-East. May I suggest that you see what the soldiers themselves are requesting and make your choices that way.
Go to the website "AnySoldier.com" then click on "Where to Send" You will see a list of profiles written by actual military members deployed to various countries in that region. The profiles are listed in real time and are accessed by "Service Branch",and "Country Deployed To". Socks, Batteries, Food Items, and Entertainment Items seem to be universally requested by all. For the female soldiers, "Sanitary Products", Hair and Skin Care Items, and Sports Bras are common requests. Also click on "What Not to Send", it will help you also. Check it out for yourself. PLEASE NOTE: This is a very serious organization and they DON'T tolerate anyone abusing their website .
If you are shipping your package from the USA you will need two copies of "USPS form 2976A, Customs Declaration" found at your local Post Office. I also recommend sending it "Priority Mail" and Insured. A little pricey, but it greatly reduces the chance of the contents being pilfered.

Well like it has been said send what they like I am sure they have asked for things I know my boys do!!! However we send a lot of candy, baby wipes, energy drinks, and gum!!! And around the holidays we send out decorations and and festive things so they dont feel like they are totally missing out. Last Christmas we sent a stocking to every solider in my brother's platoon. It was a lot but a great feeling and nice gesture!

I saw the coolest care package once, my brother told me about it. Someone sent some American soil (labeled for the town sent from), some fertilizer, and some grass seed.
A pic was sent back of the box of grass they had grown. The boys would step on it to "go back home" or to "feel American land" again. I cried.
Hope this helps!

here are some ideas and tips.
don't send dirty magazines, the soldiers can get in trouble for having them. candy is a good idea but keep the chocolate to a min, it melts in the heat instead send gift certificate cards. same for the soda the heat can cause it to explode. send phone cards, stationary (pens, pencils, paper, envelopes, stamps). if you are sending to a specific person you can send movies, and music Cd's that they would like, if you are sending it for no one special then send some stuff for everyone. include hygiene products for both guys and girls, some books. just include what ever you would like to get if you were there or what ever you know they need or want. but big ones that everyone can use is gift certificate cards, and phone cards.

Toilet paper, batteries, socks, chap-stick, candy and anything that will remind them of home.
Side note: the govt isn't allowing us to send care packages to 'any soldier' due to the type of war that is being fought

Just about anything. No alcohol though. Crystal light drinks that you can pour into water bottles. Candy, they pass that out to the kids, socks, deodorant, cd's, dvd's pretty much anything. There just glad to get the stuff. baby wipes, razors all kinds of things.
