It is hereditary in most cases. You can't really stop but you can make sure you are safe at night (lock on bedroom door). All of us visit other places when we sleep. We are transported to other places and times. But if your physical body moves, you can help stop that by learning more about why you are doing it. What anxiety do you have, unresolved conflict, undone business. Your mind wants to complete all you business and solve problems when you sleep. If you solve the problems when you are awake it frees up your soul to stop wandering.

I sometimes sleep walk when I am stressed or have unfinished business. So I have found a good way to get me to stay in bed, is if I take about 20min beforee I go to bed to just sit quietly and think about the day I have had. And put the things that I think about to bed first. Like I say to myself I will phone the Dr about that one in the morning and I will make sure the taps are closed and the doors locked befor I go to bed.And if their is anything that worries you just tell you self what you are going to do about it and when. You will see things go much better the next day.

There is a few ways that may help you stop. Your bed may be uncomfortbale and you may, in your sleep, also be uncomfortable. You could like at better beds for yourself. You could also lock you door and when your asleep you would finally give up or wake up and you could fall back asleep. If that doesent work I would go to your nearest physciatrist, he would help you with techniques, I'm just in college for being a physciatrist, so I dont know as much.

Learn some relaxation tactics as stress might be a problem behind this.Another thing is that you should exercise a little as this will loosen your muscles a bit.

Tie yourself to the bed.
Put a cat collar on your wrist that has a bell.

Get one of those dog shock collars and put the shock fence around your bed, when you hit the floor you will shock yourself.

tie one foot to the bed. When you sleep walk, you will instantly get up and wake up when you realize that your leg is stuck.

This works for many. So many don't know about this either.

Well, cat, this must be a problem. I imagine that you walk on the roof and might fall down. Tell your master to close doors and windows. If still you are supercat and can escape, tell him to chain you to the bed

It depends how far you are walking. Sleep with a pedometer on so you can monitor your mileage. if you lock your room door it wont be far. So if this is making you tied get some kip.
