AIDS is currently the sixth-leading cause of death for all American women. Most women don't even know they have HIV until they get an opportunistic infection, and then they've got full blown AIDS. An estimated 250,000 young Americans are unaware that they are infected with HIV.
I've read other medical reports stating that 50% of new cases are females between 13 - 24 years old. Young Americans between the ages of 13 and 25 are contracting HIV at the rate of two per hour.
Is this going to be females #1 cause of death in 10 - 20 years.

There are many reasons why the numbers are rising... 1. There are more men with HIV than women... and a large percentage do not even know that they have it... and there is a small percentage of men that pass it intentionally... 2. The children are not being educated in the schools about the virus and how it is spread... School's all over the world should teach some type of sex education and the parents need to stop being so short-minded and realize that children today are growing up much faster than back in the day... and they are doing grown folk's stuff... and until there is some type of education in the schools and at home the numbers will continue to rise...

Aids is getting out of control because younger female and some old ones too are not positive enough to say no love with no glove. and the new crave that oral sex is not really sex. News flash, what you can get in you genitalia you can also contract in you mouth. so all sex qualifies. A little knowledge can go a long way and save your life. if we educate more we will lose less.

Because some of them are to stupid to make the guy wear a condom no matter what. And I know this is not the only way to get AIDS but it was my first thought that came to mind.

because most men(whom the women have sex with)have sex with anyone they meet up in the street.
men r just to shy to say that the have aids to people.

I think the reason for so many females getting it is because there are more and more men on the down low.. Sleeping with other men, and then sleeping unprotected with the women.

Maybe because when a guys refuses to wear a condom, girls today are too desperate and insecure to tell him no glove no love because they fear their "boyfriend" of 2 weeks will go do someone else.
