You've only listed 2 states -- and of those 2, New York is farther from the equator.

the North Pole is not a state, not even a country.
Mexico,Japan, China and Italy are countries, not states.
That leaves 2 actual states, and of these 2 new york is much
further from the equator

Since Mexico, Japan, China and Italy are countries, your only two options are Texas and New York. Even the most cursory of glances at an atlas will reveal that New York is further north than Texas and therefore is furthest away from the equator.

oh, my god. you called Mexico, japan, china, Italy, even north pole a state? how many states do you think there are? A hundred?May as well add Iran or Iraq, that way we don't have to worry about the oil anymore?

Are you humming or musing. i extremely do not recognize what they communicate about, i have not been to the North Pole because the snow melted. Is that what it truly is, a snow pastime? Oops, my spell verify only went bonkers again. Oh no, 37 misspelled words.

alaska. I am assuming that you were trying to list ALL the states, in which case the answer is Alaska. I wont even comment on the part about the countries you mentioned...
