In my opinion the best and most individual accent in the UK is the cockney accent. Only people in the small East End of London speak it. I am a cockney my self so I'm clearly biased but for the reason above I believe this to be true.

I also like the Welsh accent, its quite funny. I like the West Country accent too, its quite soothing and soft. I cannot stand the harsh, brash accent of the Northern Irish and people from Birmingham sound dopey as they elongate their words at the end of each sentence.

The British are infact the only nationallity who would judge someone tp be brainy, thick, devious etc. by the sound of their voice and where the accent comes from

Cheshire accent! Not the accent in Hollyoaks, thats mostly variants of London accents! The real Cheshire accent - soft, warm and comely!

In response to Paul, above, I disagree about your point that we're the only ones who judge! Watch "Fargo" and see what the Yanks think of the Minnesota/Minniapolis (I know there should be an E in there somewhere!) accent!
