My doctor ordered a cat scan because of a lump on my shoulder. They said it was a fatty tumor and then that was all the info I got. Is there any chance it might be cancerous?

I too have one in my leg that has been there for over a decade. If you have had it looked at by a doctor and he says it is just a fatty tumor, you have no problem. They are VERY common. They might be unsightly and if this bothers you, you can have it removed. I've not bothered to do that.

No. you can them removed but they can come back. Most doctors can tell a fatty tumor without a scan. There must of been something else to indicate having a scan because they are very costly test.

Fatty tumors over time will turn into cancer, yes. It is best to get rid of them ASAP.

Not cancerous. I had one on my back that was right on top of my spine. I finally got to the point where leaning back on my chair was painful so had it removed. Dr. did it with a local and I went back to work. It was quit large and he didn't take it all because of the closeness to the spine. That was over 20 years ago. Doing fine now.

No it shouldnt get cancerous. If you are not happy with it, then you can ask your doctor to remove it. Dont spend months worrying. They could do it under local anaesthetic.
